KAMUT INTERNATIONAL PARTNERS WITH OFRF; FOUNDER BOB QUINN TO SPEAK AT OFRF’s ANNUAL LUNCHEON
Big Sandy, MT, March 2012 -- Kamut International (KI), a pioneer in organic farming practices, has partnered with the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF). This partnership included a $25,000 donation to the OFRF at the end of 2011, which coincided with Kamut International’s 25th year in the Natural Products Industry. “We wanted to make a contribution to an organization that is instrumental in supporting organic farmers in the U.S.” commented Bob Quinn, founder, Kamut International.
At the upcoming annual OFRF luncheon—to be held March 8th in Anaheim, CA, as part of the festivities surrounding Natural Products Expo West—attendees will have the pleasure of hearing from Bob Quinn, founder of Kamut International, as he introduces his company and how the OFRF plays a critical role in the organic farming community. Additionally, KAMUT® Brand wheat will be included in two of the dishes served during the lunch.
KI’s donation to OFRF supports a shared vision of organic as the leading form of agriculture in America. OFRF continues to cultivate a broader and deeper base of organic supporters through targeted communications campaigns featuring the Organic Farming for Health & Prosperity report, research grants and advocacy programs.
"Many don't realize that while Kamut International represents a global brand, we're actually a very small company," commented Trevor Blyth, Kamut International CEO. "Organizations such as the OFRF are crucial to our business. We appreciate very much the contributions that OFRF makes to the organic community, furthering our knowledge and supporting organic farmers, large and small. We are very proud to be part of this community and to be able to make this donation.”
Kamut International hopes that their involvement with OFRF inspires other small companies to get involved with reputable non-profits that are helping pave the way in the community of organic and Non-GMO. "It will be my pleasure to speak at the OFRF luncheon, and be among so many people who have really made a difference for farmers." commented Bob Quinn, founder, Kamut International.
